18   Link   NikonLenses
THERE ARE many online groups that focus on specific NIKON SLR camera body types and which discuss lens issues as an aside.
This group is designed to focus (no pun intended) on issues surrounding the use and abuse of NIKON lenses - primarily those lenses used with NIKON's line of 35mm FX/DX SLR camera bodies, filters and TCs.

With more than 40 million Nikon F-mount compatible lenses manufactured, and with 400 different Nikkor lenses now available, the Nikon F-mount lens system is the largest system of interchangeable flange-mount photographic lenses in history.

It is hoped that we can share our experiences with these fine machines, and in so doing, improve our photographic skills and enjoyment.

This group is largely unmoderated at this time. However...
FIRST TIME 'POSTERS' will have their initial submissions filtered. This keeps us all honest and the spammers at bay.

We prefer that equipment NOT be sold on this Group. Thank you.

20   Link   Photoshop-Haven
Photoshop-Haven is a professional discussion *User Group* run by Roz Fruchtman. However, one *does not* have to use the program professionally to be a member. (After all, *we* were all novices when we began!)

The Photoshop-Haven caters to the discussion of Adobe Photoshop, it's plugins, and all aspects of digital design, image creation and image protection.

We bring the novice and professional together to share ideas and become more proficient using this dynamic program.

Roz Fruchtman says: *I have learned... Art can be found anyplace, anytime! I have seen the ugliest photograph/image turned into a magnificent original work of art/design using -- the proper -- plugin filters!*

The *only* limits in designing digital or printed art are those limits one places upon themselves.

Won't you join us so that we can grow together in our ideas, art and creativity.

****IMPORTANT NOTE: Please DO NOT discuss PRICING ISSUES -- meaning NO MONETARY FIGURE questions. This is a price-fixing issue!**** (Thank you for understanding!)

  • Firmware updates for Canon's big guns
Canon has released firmware updates for its range-topping EOS 1D Mark III and 1Ds Mark III cameras. The updates, to versions 1.2.3 and 1.1.2 respectively, provide new custom functions to provide direct access to autofocus points and additional ways to apply exposure compensation. They also promise to: "improve the stability of AF accuracy in AI servo AF mode when shooting extremely low-contrast subjects."
