Scanning Tips

As we move from the world of film, slides, negatives, and prints, we find that we need to digitize.  We digitize by photographing and / or scanning.  Scanning can be a mystery.  Here is a link to a website that does a pretty good job of explaining scanning.  I do take exception to some of what is said...however have not authored a better article so I'll just be appreciative of what Wayne Fulton says.

Remember, be nimble and aware...things are changing fast.

  • Firmware updates for Canon's big guns
    Canon has released firmware updates for its range-topping EOS 1D Mark III and 1Ds Mark III cameras. The updates, to versions 1.2.3 and 1.1.2 respectively, provide new custom functions to provide direct access to autofocus points and additional ways to apply exposure compensation. They also promise to: "improve the stability of AF accuracy in AI servo AF mode when shooting extremely low-contrast subjects."
