How can you know what digital camera to purchase?
How do you know if your digital camera is any good?
How do you know what your digital camera is best at?
How do you know what your digital camera is worst doing?

Simple...go to DP Review and look in the buyers guide or look up your camera.

Find your camera in the database and hope that it has "Our full review" under it.

I found a Nikon camera that looked interesting to me and clicked on it. I was taken to a page that shows a nice big image of the camera. Above the camera is a drop down box that is very important...it is the heart of the whole review.

In the drop down box I chose Conclusions & Samples and learned a lot. This camera is not recommended. However, several recommendations were made for different and better cameras of this same class.

If you cannot find your camera reviewed at DP Review simply Google "review 'your camera model' ". You will find at least several reviews for your camera.

The 70-200mm F2.8 VR has long been a favourite of Nikon DX format shooters, but how well does it stand up on the new full-frame D3? Read on to find out.
  • Firmware updates for Canon's big guns
Canon has released firmware updates for its range-topping EOS 1D Mark III and 1Ds Mark III cameras. The updates, to versions 1.2.3 and 1.1.2 respectively, provide new custom functions to provide direct access to autofocus points and additional ways to apply exposure compensation. They also promise to: "improve the stability of AF accuracy in AI servo AF mode when shooting extremely low-contrast subjects."
